Many grassland specialist species benefit from high grassland connectivity. For example, the Europe-wide threatened Clouded Apollo butterfly (Parnassius mnemosyne) occurs in the best connected semi-natural grassland networks of south-western Finland (Heikkinen et al. 2005).
